The Highlands Economic Partnership is an economic and workforce development oriented public/private sector program. First started in 2006, it is an extension of the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce and serves the region of Putnam, Jackson, Overton, and White Counties. At the Highlands Economic Partnership there are four overarching initiatives: Raise median household income, fill open jobs, bolster a workforce pipeline, and strategically recruit business. With those four initiatives at the core of the Highlands’ mission, everything we work on directly relates to reaching these goals and improving the quality of life for all citizens in the region.
Harnessing the power of regionalism, collaboration, and the idea that rising tides lift all boats, HEP aims to leverage its partnerships and resources to better the business climate in our local communities. From our annual career fair (CareerFest), to facilitating professional networking and development, to recruiting new businesses to the area and helping existing business grow, HEP strives to meet the unique business, workforce, and workforce education needs of community members of all statuses, ages, backgrounds. Highlands Economic Partnership serves as the boots on the ground taking the necessary steps to forge growth and foster quality of place for our community.
